This nose and paw balm by Barks and Boops is absolutely lovely. It is creamy smooth, made of all natural organic ingredients, and provides terrific protective properties for Charlie's sensitive nose and paws while hydrating them. Plus it smells great too!I am very happy with this balm as I have been trying various ones in an attempt to find one that soothes, protects, and hydrates while also making Charlie happy. It has been difficult to find a balm that does all four of these important things at once but it appears that I have finally found a product that does. Charlie approves as he likes the scent (and taste, actually, even though that wasn't on the criteria list!) and he gladly lets me apply this to his paw pads and his nose.Some months back, the sensitive skin on Charlie's nose became kind of dry and chapped for reasons unknown (although I suspect it was simply because he likes to stick his nose into snow and grass and sand and dirt, depending on where we are and what the ground conditions are) and it became a bit discoloured too as a section of the outer layer of the black skin on his nose suddenly lost some of its colour and looked kind of like it had peeled off leaving a lighter sort of brown colour underneath. I have been trying different products ever since in an effort to fix that but none of them were very successful since Charlie didn't like them so even if I could get them onto his nose, he would quickly remove it by rubbing it off of his nose either by rubbing his nose on the floor or on his bed or on a couch, etc., or by pawing it off of his nose with his paws. So the previous products did not get a chance to work since he would remove it before it could have any beneficial effect.But finally, this Barks and Boops balm meets with his approval. He does not object to it being applied to his nose and even though he wants to lick the remnants from my fingers when I'm done applying it, he doesn't try to wipe or rub it off of his nose after it's applied. So now I finally have found a product that moisturizes and rehydrates his delicate nose skin and that he will leave in place. Yay!I also put some of this Barks & Boops balm on Charlie's paw pads because they can get dried out and a bit chapped since we live in a city and our daily walks involve concrete sidewalks and crossing streets and such when we aren't in the back yard or in the park. His paw pads seem to be liking this balm, too. They were not in terrible condition by any means but there were some little cracks that started to develop as some of his paw pads seem to have got kind of dried out over the winter, probably due to salt on the sidewalks since everyone salts or sands their sidewalks here in the winter to melt snow and ice in order to prevent falls for pedestrians and pets alike, but some of the products can be corrosive so it's a tradeoff kind of situation. Anyway, I have noticed that this balm has very quickly improved the little cracks that had shown up after this past winter and I am very impressed by how quickly that potential problem was nipped in the bud.Reading the ingredient list of this balm, I guess I shouldn't be surprised by how well it works, but I sure am happy with how well it works!Definitely five stars, definitely recommended. Charlie wholeheartedly approves!
My Chizer is allergic to coconut oil. This amazing find has none in it! It works great on my dog and smells nice. She loves when I put it on her dried pads. She does not lick at it and just lays there fully enjoying her paws getting done. Great out of the ordinary product for sure. Hard find, but works great!
One of my dogs has a chronically dry nose and I ordered this to try as an alternative to coconut oil. I really like the smell and that it is lanolin, but it did make 2 of my dogs sneeze when applied to their noses. I think it will work well for my male dog's nose when the girl's are in season to help distract him, but I think the scent (though very pleasant) may be too much for their noses on a daily basis. I tested on their paws and it softens them right away, it has to be applied somewhat thickly though to leave a barrier, a light application soaks into the skin. The packaging is quite nice, love the name - Barks and Boops, lol. There is a wax seal on top of the balm, that you need to "pop" to reach the balm, the balm is soft and easy to spread. I have a sensitivity to some essential oils and I tested it on my hands, with no irritation or reaction, the smell dissipated quickly and it did leave my hands quite soft, with very little greasy residue. I like the product but wish it came with natural scent such as coconut rather than essential oils for use with dogs - but for myself, I like it scented, lol.
This paw and nose balm is wonderful! It smells good and it’s incredibly moisturizing. My lab has some crusty dusty feet from always running around and being at daycare. She regularly has cracked pads and with only a few days use of this product there is a noticeable different in the look and feel of her paws. Also bonus that this product is made in Alberta!
I get really worried about my dog's paw and nose, sometimes it looks too dry and cracked.His paws turned soft and smooth as soon as I applied the balm to them. He is very sensitive about who and what touches his paws and he will tend to lick them, so I was glad to learn that this was a lick-safe product too.The balm does start to soften a bit when exposed to body temperature, which I thought was pretty cool.As I was applying it I could feel my hand also getting softer, and also as if the balm was forming a protective layer. My knuckles tend to get dry very often and the skin starts getting white and peely, and the balm softened my knuckles and skin when I applied it to myself too.
Nice scent. Love that its all natural, thats very important to me for my dog to not have lots of chemicals on his skin/paws. This works amazing. Helped with his crusty paws all within just a few uses. Easy to apply.
We have two dogs. Both of them spend an equal amount of time outside, but my little wiener pit seems to have really rough feet - far rougher than his sister. I've been wanting some balm for his feet and had the opportunity to get this.I will admit my expectations were low. But was I ever impressed! I used this on his little crusty feetsies for the first time tonight. He was very hesitant and nervous over it. His sister was oh so curious about what was going on. But he didn't lick it off and I put some on her feet too even though she really didn't need it.The difference in his feet was INSTANT. I was actually shocked at how silky his little feet were. And the smell is amazing! I would be happy using this on myself. He smells like the BEST little boy right now!
Just received this product and love it! My dog who is typically very picky about care and grooming products let us put it right on his nose and paws no problem. Excited to use it through Chicago winters
It truly works :) That lanolin is powerful to heal .. my big senior dogs nose was dried out for some time and I tried different oils and butters BUT only this product healed her nose completely :) We are so pleased …and it’s only been a week!!! I love supporting Canadian companies and I'm thrilled when the product is even better than anticipated.Great way texture that stays on my dogs paws for quite a long time.You need to keep it in a warm place so it is easier to apply. Or if you have a smaller dog like my Boston Terrier American bulldog mix, just set him on your lap and and rub each paw directly into the tin and onto the wax and rub it and a bit.LOL. Works great! 😁😜
Excellent item! My yellow lab has nose cracking issues due to the dryness of our climate. This balm has been the best I've found to reduce the severity of the cracking!
